A prison exercise yard at night: a guard tower, razor wire, and one searchlight cone across wet concrete with a lone figure at its edge.

Prison Break

Being seen somewhere you shouldn’t be is the beginning of the problem. Thirty prisons, none of them drawn by hand, and one way out of each.

The game

Learn the day. Then break it.

The prison runs on a clock, and the clock decides what counts as suspicious. In the yard at yard time you are furniture. In the yard at lockdown you are the alarm. Every guard, camera and drone asks the same question, and the answer changes four times a day.

Find the shovel. Get it back to your cell. Dig. By level twelve the shovel is behind a locked door and the key is on a guard; by eighteen the guard has a club. Each prison you beat makes the next one one link longer. Get caught and you wake in solitary at the far end of the building, with the walk back to think about it.

30 levels

Every prison generated from a plan and a seed. Play the same seed twice and get the same building; play the next and never see it again.

0 assets

No meshes, no textures, no materials on disk. Every wall, bar and bounce of light is built in code the moment you press Play.

Co-op

Bring a crewmate. One of you has the shovel; the other one is the distraction.

Expansion — Ares Deep, 2345

This time you belong here

A research station on the Martian surface, and you are on the staff. You have a badge, a shift, and somewhere you are supposed to be. You also found a biological weapon in a lab you had every right to be standing in, and the facility knows.

Take it off the station. The way off is an escape pod, and between you and it is every door your clearance does not open. Hack a terminal for one tier. Skim a technician’s badge for theirs. Or go around — through a duct, or out across the hull at 38% gravity, where nothing asks who you are. Getting caught costs your clearance, never your progress.
